Frequently asked

B.Pharm NEP 2020 syllabus — common questions

When does the new B.Pharm (NEP 2020) syllabus start?

PCI has mandated the NEP 2020-aligned B.Pharm syllabus for all approved institutions from the 2026-27 academic session, replacing the earlier PCI B.Pharm curriculum.

What new subjects were added in the B.Pharm NEP 2020 syllabus?

The revised curriculum adds a computing, data-science and AI spine that did not exist before — including Basics of Python Programming for Pharmaceutical Sciences, Healthcare Psychology and Communication Skills, Applied Biostatistics and Data Analytics for Pharmaceutical Sciences, Introduction to Machine Learning in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Innovation and Startup Ecosystem, AI Applications in Pharmaceutical Sciences, AI in Clinical Applications, Ethical Considerations and Translational Applications of AI in Pharmacy. These run alongside the classical pharmaceutical subjects from the first semester onward.

What are the subjects in each year of B.Pharm (NEP 2020)?

B.Pharm is a four-year, eight-semester degree. The full subject list, semester by semester with PCI codes, is on our year pages: First Year (Sem I–II), Second Year (Sem III–IV), Third Year (Sem V–VI) and Fourth Year (Sem VII–VIII).

Is the B.Pharm NEP 2020 syllabus the same for every college?

Yes. PCI sets a single national B.Pharm curriculum, so the NEP 2020 syllabus is common to all PCI-approved pharmacy colleges across India — the institution changes, the syllabus does not.
