About this book
This is the practical companion every D.Pharma Second Year student needs alongside the Pharmacotherapeutics theory textbook. Written strictly as per the PCI Education Regulation 2020 practical syllabus (ER20-24P), it is built around real clinical cases so students learn to think through drug therapy.
Students prepare and discuss SOAP (Subjective, Objective, Assessment and Plan) notes for at least six clinical cases across the major disease conditions — hypertension, angina, myocardial infarction, hyperlipidaemia, rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, COPD, diabetes, epilepsy, stroke, depression, tuberculosis, anaemia, viral infection and dermatological conditions. They carry out patient-counselling exercises using role plays based on real or hypothetical case scenarios (counselling on the disease, medications, life-style modifications and monitoring parameters, documented for at least five cases), and work through simulated cases to calculate doses of selected drugs in paediatrics and geriatrics under various pathological conditions (at least four cases).
Each activity is written clearly enough to perform and reproduce in the practical record, making internal assessments easier to prepare for. Use it together with the theory textbook for complete coverage of the paper.
Authored by Mohd. Shoeb and Prof. Vikrant V. Chilate (Taywade Institute of Diploma in Pharmacy, Nagpur), and published by Shree Sai Prakashan, Meerut — suitable for D.Pharma Second Year students at every PCI-approved institute across India.
