About this book
This is the practical companion every D.Pharma Second Year student needs alongside the Community Pharmacy & Management theory textbook. Written strictly as per the PCI Education Regulation 2020 practical syllabus (ER20-22P), it is designed around the model community pharmacy, with simulated scenarios and role plays that train real professional skills.
Students practise handling prescriptions to professional standards (reviewing, checking legal compliance and completeness), identifying drug–drug interactions and follow-up actions, and preparing dispensing and auxiliary labels. They provide health-screening services (blood pressure, capillary blood glucose, lung function with a peak flow meter and incentive spirometer, pulse oximetry, BMI), counsel simulated patients on chronic diseases (Type 2 diabetes, hypertension, asthma, hyperlipidaemia, rheumatoid arthritis) including the use of devices such as insulin pens, inhalers, spacers and nebulizers, counsel on common minor ailments, handle dummy dosage forms with the correct administration techniques, and use community-pharmacy software and digital health tools.
Each activity is written clearly enough to perform in the model pharmacy and reproduce in the practical record, making internal assessments easier to prepare for. Use it together with the theory textbook for complete coverage of the paper.
Authored by Dr. Rupesh Soni and Dr. Narendra Silawat, and published by Shree Sai Prakashan, Meerut — suitable for D.Pharma Second Year students at every PCI-approved institute across India.
