About this book

This is the practical companion every D.Pharma Second Year student needs alongside the Hospital & Clinical Pharmacy theory textbook. Written strictly as per the PCI Education Regulation 2020 practical syllabus (ER20-25P), it trains the clinical and hospital-pharmacy skills students need at the bedside and in the pharmacy.

Students take a systematic approach to drug-information queries using primary, secondary and tertiary resources; interpret laboratory reports to optimise drug therapy in given clinical cases; fill the IPC's ADR reporting form and perform causality assessment using standard scales; and gain hands-on experience with orthopaedic and surgical aids (knee cap, LS belts, abdominal belt, walker, walking sticks), different types of bandages, and devices such as needles, syringes, catheters, IV sets, urine bags, RYLE's tube, colostomy bags and oxygen masks. They also work through case studies on drug–drug interactions, wound dressing (simulated cases and role play), vaccination and injection techniques (IV, IM, SC) using mannequins, and the use of hospital-pharmacy software and digital health tools.

Each activity is written clearly enough to perform and reproduce in the practical record, making internal assessments easier to prepare for. Use it together with the theory textbook for complete coverage of the paper.

Authored by Dr. Rahul Trivedi and Dr. Narendra Silawat, and published by Shree Sai Prakashan, Meerut — suitable for D.Pharma Second Year students at every PCI-approved institute across India.
