Dr. Hemant Kumar Pathak is one of India’s most widely-cited mathematics authors and the writer of the greater part of Shree Sai Prakashan’s mathematics catalogue. For over four decades he served as Professor and Head of the School of Studies in Mathematics at Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University (PRSU), Raipur — a leading state university of Chhattisgarh — where he also held office as Dean of Science and Director of the Center for Basic Sciences. He is now retired from the university.

He earned his Ph.D. from PRSU Raipur in 1988 and has published more than 200 research papers in international journals across fixed point theory and nonlinear analysis, operator and approximation theory, integration theory, number theory, cryptography and fuzzy set theory. His work has been cited over 3,400 times on Google Scholar. He is the author of two graduate research monographs with Springer Nature — An Introduction to Nonlinear Analysis and Fixed Point Theory, and Complex Analysis and Applications (2019) — and was honoured with the Distinguished Service Award (2011) by the Vijnana Parishad of India.

Alongside his research, Dr. Pathak has written a comprehensive series of university mathematics textbooks — spanning M.Sc, B.Sc and BCA — that make rigorous mathematics accessible and affordable to Indian students in both English and Hindi. Written to the NEP 2020 syllabus of the Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and other state universities and structured around competitive examinations such as CSIR NET, GATE and UPSC, his textbooks are used across dozens of universities and are the standard reference for many M.A./M.Sc mathematics students.
