Unit 1 · Equilibrium of Forces
Analytical conditions of equilibrium of coplanar forces; forces in three dimensions, Poinsot's central axis, wrenches, null lines and null planes.
Unit 2 · Virtual Work & Equilibrium
Virtual work, stable and unstable equilibrium, and the catenary.
Unit 3 · Kinematics & Simple Harmonic Motion
Velocities and accelerations along radial and transverse directions and along tangential and normal directions; simple harmonic motion; motion under other laws of force; elastic strings.
Unit 4 · Constrained & Central-Orbit Motion
Motion in a resisting medium, constrained motion, motion on smooth and rough plane curves; motion of particles of varying mass, central orbit, Kepler's laws of motion, rocket motion, and motion of a particle in three dimensions.
